For NDH4 in April 2014, we were joined by the amazing Bafta nomm'd director/animator Chris Shepherd,

Through his first production company Polkadot set up in 95, Chris directed the multi award winning film, The Broken Jaw, for Channel 4 and producedBAFTA nominated The World Of Interiors. Chris's Polkadot credits include: adverts, title sequences and the award winning Stareout sketches onBBC/Talkback's Big Train.

His 2005 collaboration with artist David Shrigley, Who I Am And What I Want, won many international film awards, as did Silence is Golden in 2006 and Bad Night for the Blues in 2010.

NDH3's guests were the lovely David Bond and Ashley Jones of Greenlions, the creative team behind the award-winning feature docs Erasing David (2009) and Project Wild Thing (2013).
These guys are experts in audience engagement - creating films and release campaigns that partner with organisations and NGO's who share common goals with the project to reach their audience - they've partnered with Liberty, The National Trust, the NHS, top creative advertising agencies and many more - it's fascinating stuff, and can apply to drama just as as well as doc.
We were thrilled that for NDH2 (Nov 13) our guests were Ben Timlett and Bill Jones of Bill&Ben Productions, producers of the Absolutely Anything starring Simon Pegg & Kate Beckinsale, and Emmy nomm'd producer/directors of:
• Monty Python: Almost The Truth (6 hour EMMY Nominated series for IFC)
• Graham Chapman's A Liars Autobiography (Toronto IFF, UK theatrical),
• Believe (the Matt Busby story starring Brian Cox)
• Who KIlled Nancy?
For NDH1, we welcomed Matt Harlock, an award-winning director whose drama and documentary films have been screened widely at festivals and on TV.
‘American The Bill Hicks Story’ (co-directed & produced with Paul Thomas) was the 2nd highest grossing documentary in UK cinemas in 2010, was Grierson-nominated and played over 40 international festivals winning several Best Doc awards. It's 35 city US self-release led to iTunes Docs & Indy Top 10 chart for 2 months, an iMDB rating of 8.2, and no.4 in Rotten Tomatoes Best Films of 2011 chart. It is currently 7th on the iTunes Documentaries All-Time Bestseller list.
Matt has talked on marketing/self-distribution and VOD strategies at SXSW, EEFF, SPAA and Creative England.
Prior to that, Matt’s background was in drama, and his short films have been shown on Channel 4, Film4, HBO and Sky. His first feature drama script was in development with the Film Consortium and his recently completed short film The Monkey Cage is currently being developed as a feature.
